- A number of years ago I managed a small boutique type grocery store in an upscale neighborhood, located in a city of two-hundred-thousand people. My clientele consisted of mostly working-class people, most of them living within a couple miles of the store. We didn't open on Sundays, business hours were eight A.M. to six P.M, with a slightly shorter day on Saturday.
- I knew most of my customers by name, and many of them shared bits and pieces of their personal lives as well. By the nature of my business well over half of my customer base consisted of women. All of them were friendly, some simply business-casual, some a bit flirtatious on occasion, and a few were an absolute tease. One that fell into the latter category was a tall slender brunette by the name of Linda. I first met her when I took my current job, she handled the commercial banking accounts where the store banked.
